Measure and mark the cable length to ensure sufficient slack for the front panel to be fully extended without tension on the fibers . Strip the cable jacket carefully at the marked point, remove aramid fibers, and wrap the cable with electrical tape where clamps will secure it .

Step 3: Routing Fibers and Splice Tray Management

Open the splice tray by unclipping it and removing any cable tie-downs . Route the fibers around the outer oval of the splice tray, maintaining proper bend radius using bending radius control clips to prevent fiber damage . Secure fibers with cable ties or movable clamps at necessary points to maintain organization and prevent stress on the fibers . Install patch cables or pigtails into the adapters, ensuring each fiber is correctly positioned in the clamp area .

Step 4: Termination and Adapter Installation

Install the optical adapters on the front panel and connect the output pigtails or patch cables to the adapters . Ensure each fiber is properly seated and that connections are clean to minimize signal loss. Replace the splice tray cover and verify that all fibers are properly routed and secured .

Step 5: Final Checks and Closure

Close the distribution box, ensuring all clips and security bolts are engaged with an audible click . Test the connections using an optical time-domain reflectometer (OTDR) or other testing tools to verify signal integrity . Confirm that cable management is neat, fibers are protected, and the box is ready for maintenance or future expansion.
